Develop Your Business Idea with Pop Up in the Port

25.08.2015

Pop Up in the Port is an exciting project taking place from the 14th September to the 23rd October in Ellesmere Port, as part of the Carnegie Trust’s Test Town activity in 2015.

The project will see it all being kicked off by the PopUp Business School with a week-long intensive event designed to get people trading straight away. Seed Enterprises will support in building people’s confidence and helping them to overcome their personal barriers before the team from made-here  helps with product development, packaging and pricing whilst looking at national sales opportunities. The project will help build some truly exciting businesses and opportunities for the whole community in Ellesmere Port, which will culminate in a pop up business fair that gives participants the chance to showcase their products and ideas.

The key partners are:

Ellesmere Port Fab Lab offer participants free access to the latest design and product making equipment including 3D printers and laser cutters.

made-here is ‘the pop-up that stayed up’ founded as a social enterprise to support designers, makers and artists to make money from their work by providing advice, networks and contacts. Supporting over 60 local suppliers, they run one to one ‘retail ready’ workshops and run enterprise projects in communities and schools around the north west and will bring this expertise to Ellesmere Port.

PopUp Business School is the opposite of traditional enterprise support getting businesses started for free in record time and helping people to make their first money within the first week of set-up. They excite, inspire and work alongside people to build products, services and businesses that really flourish and will host a 5 day school in the town.

Seed Enterprises work with those furthest from the Labour Market and provide coaching and confidence building to vulnerable people to allow them to find the confidence to access mainstream support and services.
