Edith's story

Edith was a Plus Dane tenant living independently in her own bungalow. But anti-social behaviour in her neighbourhood and around her home was having a negative effect on her health and wellbeing, and she began to feel isolated living on her own.

Staff recommended the benefits of supported housing to her, and Edith moved into the Heath View extra care scheme five years ago.

Now, her son is not far away, and she loves getting involved in activities inside and outside of the scheme, including bingo, knit and natter, and karaoke.

“It had been very stressful before. I didn’t feel safe and I was on pins all the time,” Edith says.

“Here, I’m safer, and it’s good to know there is always someone around if I’m feeling poorly. I couldn’t wish for a nicer place.”
