Environmental Rangers

A new project teaching children about recycling and how to encourage others to keep their community clean is underway in Dingle.

Year 6 pupils from Holy Family School, on Upper Essex Street in L8, have become Environmental Rangers as part of a new initiative set up in partnership between Your Housing Group and Plus Dane

The children took part in workshops to learn about recycling, as well as a trip to Gilmoss Recycling Centre and training in how to be safe when cleaning up public areas. The L8 area has some of the lowest recycling rates in the city.

So far, the school has taken part in two clean up events, and have had arts and crafts sessions using recycled materials and a celebratory picnic to thank the children for their efforts.
