Workers at a Liverpool recycling centre are celebrating achieving NVQ Level 2 qualifications in Waste Management Operations.

Eleven of the team at the Construction Industry Recycling Centre for the Local Environment (CIRCLE) – a joint venture between Riverside, Plus Dane Group and the Seddon Group – have gained the nationally-recognised qualification for waste industry employees.

Steve Pagett, operations manager at CIRCLE, based in Blackstone Street, Liverpool L5, says: “We’re committed to best practice and helping our workforce gain industry qualifications is an important part of our approach. It’s great to see so many of our team successfully complete the NVQ award. I’d like to congratulate them all on a fantastic achievement.”

To gain the Waste Management Operations NVQ qualification, workers are assessed in a range of areas, including protection of the environment, transport and collection of waste and maintenance of a healthy, safe working environment.

CIRCLE sorts and recycles construction waste, processing more than 37,000 tonnes a year.
