Young people from Black and Minority Ethnic Groups across Merseyside and Cheshire are set to benefit from a Fundraising Charity Gala which aims to develop new initiatives that support the creation of employment, training and enterprise initiatives.

Plus Dane has long been a proud supporter of Black History Month, now in its 26th year, promoting knowledge and celebrating black history, culture and heritage. We are delighted to be once again hosting this event during the month-long celebrations, building hope and celebrating the achievements of young people.

This is the fourth year of hosting the Gala, which takes place on Friday 11th October at the Hilton Hotel, Liverpool ONE, and this year is even bigger having secured support from Liverpool based contractor Frank Rogers who have signed up as the event’s Premier Sponsor.

Other local businesses that have supported the event include Lovell, Penny Lane Builders, and Smiths SD Ltd and UNISON Liverpool, Lacy Roofing and the Flanagan Group. The fundraising event will also feature guest speaker Roger McKenzie, Assistant General Secretary of UNISON.

Gerard Murden, Managing Director at Plus Dane Group, said:

“We are delighted to once again be hosting this event as part of this year’s Black History Month Celebrations. Plus Dane is committed to supporting young people to enable them to fulfil their potential and support the creation of training and employment opportunities, and we are hoping to raise as much money as possible to enable us to continue to develop this work.

“We have been overwhelmed by the support we have received so far from partners, local businesses and staff who have contributed time, resources and prizes to support this great cause and to our sponsors who have enabled us to make the Gala even bigger and better this year.”

Dean Rogers, Managing Director of Frank Rogers said: “We’ve worked with Plus Dane for many years and were incredibly pleased to be asked to sponsor such a fantastic event. The gala dinner provides a great opportunity to celebrate the cultural diversity within the city and to raise vital funds which will have a real impact on the lives of young people living within our local communities.”
