Plus Dane Ellesmere Port-based gas engineer awarded rare certificate for saving lady from burning building

Ellesmere Port
Back in November 2014 whilst working in Great Sutton, Chris Johnston noticed a house in flames and realised an elderly woman had collapsed inside. He and a local resident forced their way in, and Chris carried the lady out to safety.

He has previously been recognised by Cheshire Fire and Rescue Service for his act of bravery, and this week received a certificate from Liverpool Shipwreck and Humane Society.

The society is a registered charity that makes honorary awards of medals, parchments, certificates and letters of commendation to people who voluntarily put their own lives or safety at risk by saving or attempting to save other people who are in danger in cases of shipwreck, drowning, fire or any other hazards.

Well done once again Chris!
