Talent recognised at Liverpool Youth Awards

Plus Dane was one of the lead partners in the first Liverpool Youth Awards, recognising projects, teams and individuals that have improved their neighbourhoods and supported and inspired young people.

The awards took place in February at the 30 James Street Hotel in Liverpool city centre, and featured food, entertainment and live performances as well as guest speaker, Cllr Steve Mumby.

Over the last financial year Plus Dane has managed the city’s youth services across three wards on behalf of Liverpool City Council, and contributed to the organisation of the awards event alongside other housing associations.

The Liverpool Youth Awards specifically recognised the city’s targeted services for young people, projects or activities funded via its youth grants scheme, and young volunteers.

Awards were handed out for group efforts in reducing crime, supporting young people back into training, education and employment, strengthening families and communities, improving wellbeing and resilience, and improving mental, emotional and physical health.

There were individual awards for nominees under the age of 24 named volunteer of the year and inspirational young person of the year
